Tasting Notes

Our 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with black cherry, cassis and ripe blackberry, with hints of cedar and dried herbs. The palate is generous and smooth, with dark plum, fresh acidity and fine tannins bringing balance and shape. As it opens, the fruit becomes broader and richer, finishing with lingering dark fruit, cocoa and spice.

Hearth Estate Vineyard

Clone 4 was planted in 2021 into heavy clay to clay-loam alluvial soil on a flat valley-floor site.

The 2023 growing season began with a cool, wet winter and spring, followed by a mild summer that gave the fruit an unusually long, slow ripening period. The extended hang time allowed Cabernet Sauvignon to develop deep, ripe flavors while retaining freshness and acidity—a defining character of the vintage. Harvested on October 19, 2023.
