Our Vineyards

Hearth begins with the vineyard. We work at a scale that lets us stay close to the fruit, follow each site through the season, and make cellar decisions that preserve what makes each place distinct.

Philosophy

We look for vineyards with a clear point of view: sites where climate, soil, farming and season leave a recognizable imprint on the fruit. Our role is not to erase those differences, but to understand them.

That same curiosity carries into the cellar. Small lots let us explore fermentation and yeast deliberately, using biology as another way to reveal—not cover—the character of the vineyard.

Estate Vineyard

Rows in the Hearth estate vineyard

Our Sonoma Valley estate is where Hearth’s relationship with farming is most direct. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc are grown here on an intimate scale, allowing us to follow individual rows, harvest decisions and lots closely from vine through fermentation.

The estate is also our laboratory for learning: observing how heat, water, canopy, ripeness and microbial choices translate into the finished wine, then carrying those lessons forward vintage by vintage.

Helena Vista
Brandon Gregory

Helena Vista Vineyard on a hillside under a blue sky

Helena Vista sits in Knights Valley at the base of Mount Saint Helena. The 22-acre vineyard is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Syrah, with western blocks on Suther-Laughlin loam and eastern blocks on a gravelly alluvial fan of Cortina loam.

For Hearth, the site offers a compelling expression of Knights Valley: warm days, cooler evenings and well-drained soils, with the structure and intensity we look for in Bordeaux varieties.

Reynoso Ranch

Vines at Reynoso Ranch

Reynoso Ranch lies in Alexander Valley along the Russian River, a large and varied property whose vineyard blocks span different exposures and terrain. Sauvignon Blanc is among the varieties grown on the ranch.

Our work with Reynoso has centered on Sauvignon Blanc, where the site gives us the raw material to pursue brightness, aromatic lift, natural acidity and texture while keeping the finished wine focused and precise.
